Care Packages

All of our Home Care Services include:

Level One

  1. To encourage clients to remain as independent as possible.  Carers are there to assist the client and to do what the client can no longer do for themselves, they are not there to take away choice or independence.
  1. To make and change beds, tidy rooms; do light cleaning and empty commodes.  Carers are only expected to do light, everyday housework.  Their main role is as a caregiver, not a housekeeper/cleaner.
  1. To help in the promotion of mental and physical activity of clients through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them activities such a reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
  1. To inspect, launder and where necessary, iron the clients clothing and linen.
  1. To ensure that all food stored either in refrigeration, or dry goods are identified by labels and are dated for ease of date rotation and freshness.  It is good practice that the outgoing Carer will leave a clean and tidy fridge at the end of their assignment.
  1. To set tables or trays; serve meals; feed clients who need help; prepare healthy meals, to the clients preference.
  1. To answer emergency bell, the door and the telephone to greet visitors.  To serve tea and or coffee to visitors.  However, should the client have guests to stay in their homes, Carers should not be expected to do extra cooking and cleaning.
  1. To provide assistance with medication in the form of Administering or Reminding to complete MARS sheets and keep accurate records of any medication changes.
  1. To monitor health, communicate and co-operate with Doctors, District Nurses, Health Visitors, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers.
  2. Driving client to appointments and taking them on day trips.
  3. To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.

Level Two

  1. To help clients with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
  1. To assist clients who need help with getting up in the morning, dressing, undressing, washing, bathing and the toilet.  This will be considered as Personal Care.

Level Three

  1. To care for clients who are temporarily sick and needing minor dressings, bed nursing, help with feeding etc.
  1. To help care for clients who are in end of life.

Record Keeping

The carer will keep a daily journal about the clients well being, health, bowel movements, visitors and the day to day running of the house. The client has the right to read the journal, however, it is confidential and no-one else should have access to the Journal without the clients permission.

To complete the Accident or incident forms as part of the due diligence of being a carer and make sure that the copy is filed and responsible people are advised, i.e., next of kin, Maggie Barnett, as Manager of the Live-in CareTeam.

The carer will complete MARS sheets and keep accurate records of any medication changes.

The carer will keep good records, which must be produced upon request, of any monies spent or online ordering done.
