Specialisms

Our carers are carefully selected based on many factors including qualifications and experience. We are able to offer support in most situations that will allow the cared for person to remain in familiar home surroundings.

Here are just some of the circumstances in which we can help but there are others. Please talk to us about any special needs that we can help with.

Live-in Care Scotland

Dementia

Dementia care is a specialist support system designed to help a person with dementia manage their symptoms. Dementia care refers to caring for all conditions defined as Dementia – common types include Alzheimer’s, Lewy Body dementia, Vascular dementia, Fronto-temporal dementia and mixed dementia. It covers care for these conditions at all stages.

Specific dementia care can provide targeted assistance through things like reminiscence therapy, dietary adjustments, physical activity and support for challenging behaviour and sundowners.

Palliative/Terminal Conditions

Anyone diagnosed with a palliative or terminal condition and requires support managing serious illness like cancer or heart failure. Our palliative carers improve quality of life addressing relief for symptoms plus helping alleviate the stress of the illness for both the client and their family. If the client is in hospital or a residential care home we can help people move back home, where it’s most comfortable. Palliative care can be offered to someone with a long-term condition. Live in care enables people to keep in touch with their friends, assist with weekly shopping, pain management and personal care. The objective is to lead life on their terms and support them with planning for the future which may involve end-of-life-care.

Parkinson’s

Low dopamine levels in the brain increase the risk of falls, involuntary shaking, stiff muscles and slow movement. The symptoms of Parkinson’s worsen over time and individuals find it increasingly difficult to carry out everyday tasks and care for themselves. This is where live in care for Parkinson’s can help.

Mobility and Frailty

Live in care may be necessary for clients facing various situations including ageing related frailty, post operative recovery or managing chronic illnesses. It is particularly beneficial for those with limited mobility due to conditions like Arthritis, Parkinson’s disease or Stroke. Those experiencing cognitive decline, such as Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease may also benefit from this type of care.

Home Health Care

Our Carers assist with medication, monitoring vital signs, wound care, Peg feeding and Stoma care. They are experienced in liaising with Medical Professionals, General Practitioners, District Nurses and Occupational Therapists to ensure continuity of Care.

Hospital Discharge/Rehabilitation Services Respite Care/Break

Rehabilitation Services are accessed for Physical, Nursing, Occupational, Speech and Language Therapy. This is to encourage speech, mobility and overall health improvement.

Companionship

Our Carers can assist with everyday tasks such as meal preparation, medication reminders and light housekeeping. Encouraging the client in conversation, reading, games, hobbies (such as gardening). Providing companionship and organising social outings. All of this is particularly beneficial for clients with Dementia or Alzheimer’s plus providing peace of mind for the family.

Personal Care

Help with daily living tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming and toileting. Feeding, general hygiene, help with ambulating and transfer. Our Carers provide respectful and dignified care while helping people maintain their independence.
