With excellent transport links it’s super easy to travel both to Scotland and within Scotland. And it’s a wonderful place to spend some time. There is so much that is worth getting to know that you will love being based here.
Travel Links to the North
Do not be afraid to venture North from London and the Home Counties. Transport provision is amazing with unbelievable views and full of new experiences.
There are well situated airports all over Scotland:
Edinburgh Airport is 8 miles west of Edinburgh. Buses and trams run regularly between the airport and the centre, including close to Waverley Station.
Aberdeen International Airport is 7 miles west of Aberdeen centre with flights to the UK and Europe. There are taxis and regular buses between the airport and Aberdeen Centre. The Airport has 11 hotels close by.
Inverness Airport is 8 miles east of Inverness town with flights to UK and Europe. Buses and taxis are available outside the Terminal.
Glasgow Airport in Scotland provides flights to the UK, Europe and USA. The airport is 11 miles west of Glasgow centre. Glasgow Central Rail Station is the centre of a huge rail network to Largs, Edinburgh, East Kilbride, Wemyss Bay, Ayr, Kilmarnock, Ardrossan. Train destinations from Glasgow Central are numerous.
Prestwick Airport is 34 miles southwest of Glasgow City with regular buses and trains to Glasgow. Taxis are available at the Terminal. Ryanair is the only Passenger Flight Airline with flights to France, Italy, Spain and Canary Islands.
There are minor airports situated at Barra, Benbecula, Campbeltown, Dundee, Islay, Kirkwall, Stornaway, Sumburgh, Tiree and Wick (John O’Groats). So for the adventurers among us, there are numerous new opportunities to travel Scotland and earn money at the same time.

Please note: To work in Scotland it is now a requirement to obtain a PVG for Scotland (similar to DBS). Obtainable from the Scottish Government. Complete and email with birth certificate or British passport and bank statement or driving license (as proof of address). Cost is currently £59 and £18 per year to keep valid.
